Student Type: elementary school Grammar: Irregular verbs Vocabulary: Actions 44 likes 3975 downloads Your students have to answer "Can you?" questions. I tried to write questions that are a little bit out of the ordinary, e.g. Can you teach a monkey to tell the time?, Can you rap?, etc. First, they answer with a short “Yes, I can†or “No, I can’t.†Then they tell their partner a bit more, eg. “No, I can’t. But I don’t think it’s possible. Monkeys can be intelligent but not that intelligent.†See sample answers for each question on Page 2. With elementary speakers, just omit the long answers and stay focused on the short answers. Bless up, Kisdobos

Student Type: kindergarten, elementary school Grammar: Present continuous Vocabulary: Actions 72 likes 3715 downloads This lesson plan practices 'used to...' together with simple present and simple past tenses. In the model conversation students listen and repeat questions, responses and natural follow-up questions which introduce 'used to'. Students can be drilled in the practice sections before completing two exercises - one a gap-fill (using 'used to' with frequency adverbs) and the other a matching exercise. The listening section is a conversation between two friends talking about their school days. This lesson is a good way to review 'used to' or to introduce it to students for the first time. Enjoy!
