Co-founder Peter Laszlo's Message

Dear colleagues!

We hope that you found a lot of joy in using our materials in 2016! Now, please consider subscribing as a Supporting Member on iSLCollective. You name the price, and in return, you will see no ads on the site during your membership period.

As a Christmas present for our users, on December 13, 2016 we rolled out a new video lesson platform on iSLCollective. You can bring Youtube and Vimeo videos to the new iSLCollective video lesson editor and create interactive quizzes for them. Your quiz questions will show on top of the video, and pause it while students are answering the question. We made the editor super easy to use. Soon I hope we will have a huge library of superb video lessons that hundreds of thousands of colleagues will be using in their classes the world over. If you like our video lesson section, that's another reason to become a Supporting Member, because the incoming proceeds is what makes it possible to make our video lessons even more awesome!

We will use the incoming proceeds to maintain and continuously improve the site. We are giving you influence to shape the future of iSLCollective: you can decide where you'd like your money to go! During the payment process, you can select whether you want us to spend your money 1) on the development of the abovementioned new video lesson platform, 2) on the worksheets section or 3) "where most needed" (meaning you leave it for us to decide).

Our main expenditure elements are staff salaries and internet bills:

Technology:
Maintenance, data backup, servers, bandwidth, development, search engine optimization. We serve between 70-110,000 teachers every day so we have to maintain a powerful and reliable back-end infrastructure.

People:
8 iSLCollective staff members make sure that every aspect of the technological and administrative side of the operations is covered professionally.

Finally, let me tell you what our team has accomplished in 2016:

1) We gave a facelift to the site: the brand new design looks great on mobile phones and tablets, too. it took three months to finish this job, but it was worth it.
2) A new section for the main page showing the best uploads of the previous day.
3) We added a bunch of new servers for the site to run smoothly even when the site is seeing 100 thousand visits per day.
4) We provided technical support for our users throughout the year.
5) And finally, the brand new video lessons section!

Bless up,

Peter Laszlo

"Teaching English as a foreign language is my second job, and I highly appreciate being able to find on this excellent website quality materials and tailor-made worksheets so to meet my students' diverse needs. Preparing one-on-one lessons sometimes requires a lot of time, therefore I want to thank ISLCollective team and its members for sharing their work, knowledge and time and helping me with my tasks. As a regular ""taker"" of these great materials I've been more than happy to give ISLCollective some financial support. I encourage every user to become a supporting member so that ISLCollective can continue operating in the years to come. "

"I'm teaching German in a primary schools in France - children from 5 to 11 years. Until now I didn't find books and workbooks for this age. On iSLCollective I can find cute worksheets for every theme. I also found many ideas about how to explain things in many different ways. Often I used worksheets in English and translated them into German, because the way of explaining things was so good."

iSLCOLLECTIVE helps me almost every week - either as an inspiration for my own lessons or as the source of much needed exercises for revision/topics for discussion etc. Therefore I decided to donate without any hesitation.

"Hello, I have been a user of iSLCollective for a couple of years. I often find useful worksheets for my students. For me it is a huge help to be a member of iSLCollective and I think it is important to support Peter Laszlo and his colleagues, because it takes them a lot of work to operate the site and everybody can use this amazing resource for free. Thank you so much!!! ;-))"

"iSLCollective is an amazing site! There are literally thousands of worksheets DONATED by teachers who simply want to share. At first I just used to grab and run. Then, I started to think about the site's appeal for help so that they could continue. So, I donated, and I will donate again, even though I no longer use the site as often as I did. The alternative? Well, no funds, no site. Tragically simple. All you teachers out there can surely find 5-10 Euros to donate. Work out how much time and effort you have saved on preparing a lesson after using the ISLCollective site. How much did you earn teaching that lesson? Simple maths. Boldog Karásony! Merry Christmas! "I sponsor iSLCOLLECTIVE because it literally changed my life. At first it was a source of fantastic materials for my students for reinforcement, test review, and fun. Later on I felt challenged by the creativity of the contributors and tried my hand at creating worksheets myself. I was able to unleash my unknown creative powers through worksheet and power point creations. It was through tutorials posted by other members and communication with them that I slowly learned how to make materials. iSL is also a community of teachers worldwide and we often exchange our thoughts and well wishes. In addition the site continually evolves and I believe is the best and most attractive source of teaching materials on the web."

"I really appreciate the worksheets that different teachers prepare and share. Most of the worksheets are amazing (creative, fun, practical, ...). That's why I think I have to help in some way and for that reason I have decided to become a sponsor. I'm really thankful to all of you and I hope one day I can colaborate even more. ISL collective is a fantastic web site and I hope it can go on running. Let's hope that many of you think the same, because then... together we can help!!!! Thanks, thanks and infinite thanks!"
  • "It has been a great help for me as a teacher as well as before my students who can find worksheets and material to revise before the final test I discovered it by chance because I am really curious and try to prepare at the best to motivate my children. I have often asked myself how there can be teachers so imaginative and I envy them because unluckily I am not as creative as them. Thanks a lot "

"iSLCollective offers a wide range of teacher worksheets and a very useful selection interface. There are resources to match most topics and situations at a variety of levels. The worksheet contributors have unique and interesting styles and experience. We are able to utilize iSLCollective materials in the teaching of elementary and intermediate classes of immigrants to Australia."

Our plans for 2017

We have big plans for 2017. We would like to further develop our new video lesson platform. For example, we'd like to improve class work with video lessons. We would like to replace paper answer sheets and enable you to let your students submit their answers via their mobile phone or tablet while you are showing them the video lesson on the big screen.

We also want to enable you to organize competitions between them, even pairing them up virtually, to motivate them even better.

Besides, we are planning to let you create virtual classes on iSLCollective and add your students to your class, so you can assign them video homework and check if they have done it, and how well they did in this or that video lesson.

FAQ

Q: How does paying work?

You can choose to select a monthly amount to pay every month or you can make a one-time payment. We are happiest for recurring payments, which means you authorize us to automatically charge your Paypal account or bank card every month - until you cancel it. So if you're thinking about whether to pay 15 euros once, or 3-5 euros every month, please choose a smaller, but monthly amount. Of course, we are immensely grateful for one-time payments, as well!

In either case, technically you pay in your national currency, and our bank will exchange it. The currencies indicated in the payment box are there to give you a better idea of how much you are going to pay.

We are glad to answer any questions at info [at] islcollective [dot] com or +36 30 638 7470.

Q: I am considering paying a small amount every month. How does this work?

Paying every month (monthly recurring payment)

If you select "PAY MONTHLY" in the pay box above, it means that you are going to make a payment every month, and with your authorization this amount will be debited (=charged) by iSLCollective automatically on the monthly anniversary of the first payment, until of course, you stop your payments.

You can easily stop your automatic monthly payments by going to the History/support sub menu in your MyPage (click on your avatar in the top right corner). There you will find a link that takes you directly to the page on PayPal.com where you can stop the payments. In case of CCBill (our bank card payment processor), you just have to reply to the payment confirmation email they have sent you, and they will cancel your recurring payment within a few hours.

Recurring payment works both with PayPal and your bank card. Your account will be upgraded to "iSLCollectve Sponsor" right after successful payment.

Q: I'd like to pay 15 dollars, but only once. Can I do that, too?

Paying just once

Sure. If you select "PAY ONCE" in the pay box above, you will be charged your selected amount only once. Your account will be upgraded to "iSLCollective Sponsor" immediately after successful payment.

Q: What payment methods can I choose from?

1. PayPal

In case of using Paypal, the actual payment takes place on PayPal's secure site. If you create a PayPal account, in most countries you can also pay with your debit or credit card.

Experiencing problems when trying with PayPal? Contact us at info [at] islcollective [dot] com, or try the next option.

2. Bank Card

You can also pay securely with your debit or credit card on CCbill.com, the site of our international payment gateway partner. We have chosen CCBill because it is well-known and trustworthy provider for processing electronic payments.

Experiencing problems when trying to donate with your bank card? You can try using your bank card with PayPal, too. For many people it works, as well. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at info [at] islcollective [dot] com.

Q: I need the invoice after my payment made out in the name of my school/company. Where can I give you the invoice details?

1. In case of Paypal payments

As a default, you will be issued an invoice using the name and address you provided in your PayPal account. If you would like us to make out the invoice to a different name and address, you can request that on the next page before you get to Paypa's page to finish the payment.

2. In case of debit/credit card payments

As a default, you will be issued an invoice using the name and address you provide on our payment form (Step 1 of payment: "Confirming your order").
