The video lesson is built around a prediction game with 5 questions: students have to guess what is going to happen next at five points in the story. 

If you're doing this with a projector from your own computer, there are two ways you can work with this video lesson:

1. Interactive play mode: elicit answers from the students, and type in one of them. Click "Continue" and watch what really happens next in the scene. After you've seen the solution, the solution in written form will also pop up.

2. Non-interactive mode: it's the same, except that you don't have to type in any answers.

In my opinion, prediction games work on any level. 

I highly recommend it for practising the "be + going to" type future tense. It could be a quick lead-in activity to do grammar practice.

Why do you think he did what he did a few minutes after discovering his new ability?

How old is the main character? What is his job?

Why does the main character look jaded (exhausted, unhappy) in the beginning of the film?

What would you do with the power that the protagonist acquired?

What benefits could you bring to other people with this kind of power?

Discussion: Discuss the questions below. Use to opportunity to have students use speculative language, e.g. he might/may/could/must have + past participle.

Writing task: Students write a news account about the main character being discovered. Students can practise using speculative language in the newsflash, e.g. he could/may/might/must have + past participle.

Writing task/role play: Our protagonist explains to the police what really happened.

If you pre-teach some of the words that you think students would need to describe what is going to happen next, be cautious about which ones you pre-teach, because some could be spoilers (e.g. "get stuck") and may hint at the ending of the film to the students. Instead of pre-teaching, it's probably best to help the students with the vocab when they are answering the prediction questions.

While this short film is relatively unknown, some students may have seen it. I suggest you also ask students to not spoil the ending for the others or help the others take guesses. Instead, they should just remain outsiders during the game.

The winner of the Filminute film festival in 2009, this is a 1-minute movie with a surprise ending. It features a visibly jaded office worker who is apparently still toiling after everyone's left the office (sorry, can't tell you more, because it would ruin the film).
