Hi guys, i have to teach large classes here in China..50 kids ( grade 8) for 20 classes , and i only get one perod a week with each. Anyway, i usually teach a lot of grammar but the Chinese teachers here don't want me to teach grammar ( although they should as their grammar is shocking) as they say that my job is to teach conversational English. I guess my question is how the hell do i teach conversational English to a class of 50 kids? For example, this week i have to teach the subject ..What's the matter....relating to parts of the body . Usually i just do the tried and tested method of putting them into groups and getting them to practice as i walk around and listen, followed by getting some groups to speak in front of the class, but does anyone have any other suggestions. Anything would help. Thanks a lot.
