Originally I created these cards for practising past continuous but it is suitable for other tenses and activities, too. Past continuous: devide the class into groups and give each group a set of cards. Students take turns to pick 2 cards at a time and make sentences with the two verbs in the past continuous (and past simple if the sentence expresses interruption). You can extend this activity with interrogative or negative sentences or you can give them time expressions, or you can play 'alibi', etc.

The present downloadable teaching material is intended for high school students, elementary school students and adults at Beginner (pre-A1), Elementary (A1), Pre-intermediate (A2) and Intermediate (B1) level. It is great for revising in English, and is a valuable material for developing your pupils' Speaking skills.
