Pyramid conversation discussion. Contains instructions. Students work alone to pick 3 items they'd take to a desert island (from a list of mostly useless objects). Then they must compromise with a partner and choose 3 together. Then once again in a group of 4. Works well with opinion vocabulary (I think we should; perhaps we ought to... etc.) and conditionals (if we were to take the sheep, we could..) and many other possible ways. It will need some modification for younger learners, as one of the pictures is vodka.

The present printable, downloadable handout is meant for high school students, elementary school students and adults at Elementary (A1), Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper-intermediate (B2) and Advanced (C1) level. It is a useful material for teaching Comparison (comparative and superlative) in English, and is excellent for working on your students' Listening and Speaking skills. It centers around the vocabulary topic of Debate. You will find the answers at the end of the worksheet.
