I started the lesson with some free discussion about things we couldn't live without.
Then students ask and answer questions to piece together information about the invention of umbrellas.
After that Ss work together to complete the various conversation activities.

This lesson was designed for a 2 hour class for adult intermediates. It ran 10-15 minutes short in some classes, so you might want to add more discussion between each activity.

The above downloadable worksheet is meant for business/professional students, high school students and adults at Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper-intermediate (B2), Advanced (C1) and Proficient (C2) level. It can be used for strengthening your learners' Listening, Spelling, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. It centers around the topic and words of Technology. The exercises come with the answer key.
