This speaking/writing activity is based on real life problems. It focuses on employment gaps that may occur due to different life circumstances. Students should give advice on how to write a good CV/resume or handle a job interview based on these situations. These prompts may be a good starting point to job seeking discussions. There are many articles on the internet where professional recruiters help with these kinds of situations.

This downloadable handout is recommended for business/professional students and adults at Intermediate (B1) and Upper-intermediate (B2) level. It is great for teaching Conditional 2 (second conditional) - would, Conditionals, Conditionals: Conditional phrases (e.g. unless, provided that, as long as) and Modals in English, and is excellent for developing your pupils' Speaking skills. It features the theme of Debate and Jobs, work.
