This is a worksheet I developed for my high intermediates-Advanced who were being introduced to writing at the college level. This "Triangle" represents how American essays are structured as a whole, but also can be used to demonstrate how the paragraphs need to be organized. This is meant to move students away from 5-paragraph essays, but still give them guidelines to start with.

The questions were directed toward elements of writing we had studied, and were used as a sheet to look at while exchanging essays with their classmates. The wording of the individual questions might be more specific toward my class, but the general idea is there to work with. I recommend editing the questions to reflect your class level and needs.

The present downloadable handout is intended for business/professional students, high school students and adults at Upper-intermediate (B2), Advanced (C1) and Proficient (C2) level. It can be used for honing your groups' Writing skills.
