Simple Exercise to practice Present Simple in positive and negative form. First page with pictures of Katie Holmes I give out to students saying that they are paparazzi and took those photos last week. I ask them to write a sentence about each picture.

Later I tel them that their pictures were used by a newspaper to write an article about Katie Holmes. I read them twice the article (I do not give out the text - it is a listening exercise). I ask them to find mistakes in the article. I ask to use full sentences to use both negative and positive form of Past Simple.

As a last part I ask them to write 6 sentences about their last week (what they did and did not do)

The present downloadable handout is a great resource for high school students and adults at Elementary (A1) and Pre-intermediate (A2) level. It is great for consolidating Past simple tense in English, and is useful for strengthening your class' Listening, Speaking and Writing skills. It is about the vocabulary topic of Daily routines.
