Expressing Reasons or Causes

These cards help students express the reasons why they have taken some imaginary decisions.
They should use words as: Therefore, consequently, hence, thus, because of this, because of, etc in a communicative way.

You can make small groups, have them put the cards facing downwards in a pile then, have one student take a card from the pile and each students in the group should give the reasons and details that caused them to take such decisions.

The above printable, downloadable handout is a great resource for high school students and adults at Elementary (A1), Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1) and Upper-intermediate (B2) level. It is a useful material for practising Clauses of reason (e.g. because, because of, due to, as, since) in English.
