This exercise is for teaching the pupils/students how to describe facial expressions. Some of the pictures may look similar, but there should be differences. Works as an individual exercise, but works best as a group or class discussion. The individual picture can have more than one correct alternative, but the best thing is if the pupils/students can come up with their own suggestions.

The present downloadable handout is a great resource for business/professional students, high school students, elementary school students and adults at Intermediate (B1), Upper-intermediate (B2), Advanced (C1) and Proficient (C2) level. It is aimed at consolidating Adjectives and Adjectives to describe feelings / mood / tone in English, and is excellent for improving your class' Speaking and Writing skills. It is about the theme of Feelings, emotions.
