Children read the story and complete the gaps with the past forms of the verb to be. The exercise allows the learners to practise was and were in a fun way. They can work in pairs or individually and at the end of the activity volunteers read out the story.

This downloadable teaching material is intended for elementary school students at Elementary (A1) level. It is valuable for revising Past simple tense in English, and is excellent for enhancing your students' Reading skills. It features the theme of Halloween.
