Reading and Writing : Body and Clothes

1) Pre-reading: Teacher draws students attention to pictures illustrating target vocabulary (nouns and adjectives related to body - e.g: tall, short, thin, moustache, beard etc). Teacher gets students to drill chorally and individually the target vocabulary. Teacher corrects pronunciation when necessary. Then, after reading model examples, which build on previous lessons, wherein target vocabulary is contextualised, students are encouraged to formulate similar sentences. Teacher assists students in the process - e.g : He has got a moustache; He is tall.

2) While-reading: Students read 4 paragraphs describing four characters. Afterwards, students are urged to match the paragraphs (1-4) with the characters (A-D).

3) Post-reading: In the end, students are invited to think of a friend or a family member and write a description of them in the form of a paragraph.
