group work icebreaker for your new class (1st or 2nd lesson) - divide Ss into 5 groups, each group gets 1 box with 5 words/phrases. Ss work out what the rules are. They all beging with ALWAYS, NEVER, TRY TO, BE, but can be adapted. Then whole class discuss which rules are most importnat, you can choose 5 or 10 to put up on the wall poster.

The above downloadable handout was created for high school students and adults at Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper-intermediate (B2) and Advanced (C1) level. It is useful for enhancing your groups' Speaking skills. The answer key is provided, too.
