A worksheet and video (link included) demonstrating the difference between similes and metaphors. Begins with a poem which Students read and try to imagine the title of (which is: Birds) and finishes by encouraging them to write their own short simile poems to describe somebody or something.

This downloadable printable is a great resource for high school students, elementary school students and adults at Pre-intermediate (A2) and Intermediate (B1) level. It is valuable for practising Comparisons: AS or THAN and Figures of speech, metaphors, metonyms in English, and is excellent for honing your pupils' Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills.
