song--Elvis Presley, Always on my mind

I was thinking of love songs to use for my Valentine's Day lesson, and this old classic came to mind. Another site (esl-lounge) has a huge list of songs and what grammatical & linguistic points can be taught within each. It reminded me that this song uses a lot of past modals, which is what my B2 class had just finished. For them, filling in the gaps in this song was relatively easy. Perhaps lower levels could do it, too, and listen a few times. Maybe it can be a segue into a conversation about things we regret in life and love.

The above downloadable printable is meant for high school students, elementary school students and adults at Pre-intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1) and Upper-intermediate (B2) level. It is valuable for teaching Modals in English, and was designed for improving your learners' Listening and Reading skills. It centers around the vocabulary topic of Valentine's Day.

Hi! I'm an American ELF teacher currently based in Kiev, Ukraine, but have worked throughout the CIS/Russian-speaking world for the past 5-6 years. English language wasn't my main focus of study initially, and my goal here is to transcribe materials relating to current events and social justice into language for a variety of students' abilities and ages. Hit me up if you're interested in collaborating on some projects or other in that vein.
