Learners encouraged to predict answers prior to listening to the song. On listening they firstly check if they were correct and if not select the correct answer by writing the number next to the word. The minimal writing task is designed to allow learners more time to focus on the listening side of things and not overly concerned about writing and spelling. Learners can (in their own time) transcribe the correct lyric into the space at a later point. It's a very uplifting song - perfect for last thing on a Friday afternoon, which is when I did it with my class. Learners can self check their answers by watching the song with lyrics on YouTube.
