This is a written comprehension that I gave to my pupils. I included the original text and the assessment part.

Some questions were originally asked in French but I translated it all into English and you can modify it as you wish.

It is an excerpt from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian: A novel by Sherman Alexie with art by Ellen Forney

The theme of the document is Thanksgiving.

The present downloadable teaching material is recommended for high school students at Elementary (A1), Pre-intermediate (A2) and Intermediate (B1) level. It is a useful material for revising Past simple tense in English, and can be used for strengthening your pupils' Reading skills. It is focused on the topic and words of Thanksgiving.
