This is a reading comprehension passage to be used in conjunction with the 2003 documentary: The Fog of War.
It is intended for advanced adult classes and can be used as a way of introducing Robert McNamara, or it can be used after the students have watched the documentary as a focal point around which to base discussion. The film covers a great many important historical events which make it an ideal subject for discussion. However, I have also included the 'Eleven lessons' as these produce many more talking points making for a lively and engaging conversation class. Even with advanced students I would always recommend a) letting them have the film 1 week in advance of the class and b) ensuring that the copy you provide has English subtitles available- this last will assist your students greatly, increasing the amount of language they absorb and thereby allowing them to enjoy the film all the more.

The above printable, downloadable handout is a great resource for business/professional students and adults at Advanced (C1) and Proficient (C2) level. It can be used for honing your groups' Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills.
