A basic activity I planned for my weak learners. First students fill in the gaps in each paragraph using the past simple tense. Then they re-order the paragraphs in order that the story can make sense. Finally, and after reading the story again in the correct order, students decide if the statements below are true or false. Key provided.
Extra actvity: the students write a dialogue and they act it out.

The above downloadable worksheet is a great resource for high school students, elementary school students, adults and students with special educational needs, learning difficulties, e.g. dyslexia at Pre-intermediate (A2) level. It is valuable for consolidating Past simple tense in English, and was designed for working on your students' Reading skills. It centers around the theme of Crime, law and punishment and Past. The exercises come with answers.
