"Tom's Diner", by Suzanne Vega (Present Continuous)

Another one of those songs that we always end up using! This is a great song for beginners, since it's a capella (only voice, no instruments) and sung slow enough for them to understand the words. I've removed all the Present Continuous forms (and listed the verbs in their infinitive form) (note that there are Past Continuous forms, so I just left them as they are - let's not confuse our students!). Students should try to complete the song using the correct form of the verbs, and then listen to the song and check. Hope you like it, and thank you for checking it out! :)

This printable, downloadable handout was created for high school students, elementary school students and adults at Beginner (pre-A1) and Elementary (A1) level. It is a useful material for revising Present continuous (progressive) tense in English, and is a valuable material for developing your learners' Listening and Writing skills.
