This is a template with different sentences using were / was (affirmative, negative and questions). The idea is for the teacher to cut the different parts of the sentences and then have students build sentences using all the elements. You may want to print each page on a different colour paper / cardboard so that it will be easier to sort them after every class (or give them unsorted and have them sort the pieces out).

The above downloadable printable is intended for high school students, adults and students with special educational needs, learning difficulties, e.g. dyslexia at Elementary (A1) and Pre-intermediate (A2) level. It is valuable for practising BE: WAS or WERE, Negatives (negation, saying No), Personal pronouns, Question words, Questions (interrogative), Questions: Yes or No questions and Word order in English, and can be used for working on your learners' Writing skills. It features the theme of Places and Time. You will find the solution at the end of the worksheet.
