Connotations - How Words Feel

BilboBaggins 2016-08-25 10:25:35

This is an introductory lesson on connotations and denotations (literal meanings).

I focus on how words have two kinds of meanings: dictionary meaning and connotative. I explain connotations as how words make a listener/reader feel.

The final few slides are interactive with the class. The students will say (or guess) whether the words have positive, negative, or neutral meanings.
