EF Perth is currently seeking an energetic individual for the full time position of Assistant Director of Studies for our ELICOS programs. This position is perfect for someone who wants to use and continue developing their educational leadership skills in a supportive environment which focuses on providing quality learning outcomes in a fun and personalised way, both within and beyond the classroom.



The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Assisting the DoS in the planning and scheduling of General English, Cambridge, IELTS, Business English and Special Interest classes
Being available to help students with questions, class change requests, language goals etc.
Testing and placing students into classes on a weekly basis and participating in orientation
Finding relief teachers when necessary
Teaching a set amount per week up to full-time, and possible relief teaching (hours vary according to needs)
Tracking student attendance, issuing formal warnings and counselling students
Conducting teacher observations and providing constructive feedback
Leading professional development training and workshops
Monitoring and supporting teachers’ use of EF blended learning materials
Liaising with EF Sales Offices to ensure high student satisfaction with internal communication
Working with the DoS, School Director, Activities, Accommodation, and Student Services teams to run cohesive and memorable school events


To succeed in this role, the candidate must be a qualified and talented teacher with the ability to lead by example, and an ability to work well in a range of administrative roles.

Who we are looking for

1. Language proficiency
   

   Proficient speakers

2. Experience
   

   Min. 2 years

   (Minimum two years’ experience teaching a wide range of levels and specialised courses.)

3. Qualification
   

   Trinity Certificate in TESOL + Bachelor degree (BA) in a relevant subject

   (TESOL qualification as recognised by NEAS (CELTA, Certificate IV in TESOL, etc.))

4. Creative, flexible and resourceful
5. Detail-oriented
6. Able to work flexible hours
7. A clear communicator
8. Australian Citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency, or a visa which allows you to work full-time in Australia for at least two years
9. DELTA, or MA TESOL / MA Applied Linguistics (desirable)
10. Experience supporting teachers in special courses, e.g. Cambridge (desirable)
11. Experience providing professional development workshops and teacher observations (desirable)
