ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

The Young Learners’ operation is currently based in four locations – a 7-classroom Young Learners Branch in the historical centre of Seoul to the north of the Han river near the Seoul City Hall, a 7 classroom Young Learners branch in Mokdong, a 7-classroom Young Learners branch in Seocho, and a 7 classroom Young Learners branch in Ilsan. Teachers are anchored to one centre, but may be requested to work across centres. We currently have more than 2,800 Young Learners studying with us. Growth is planned for the near future and, as such, Young Learner Centres in South Korea are a dynamic place to work with excellent professional development opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
Working with both our students and with your internal colleagues at British Council, you will deliver teaching to the highest standards of ELT while enhancing British Council’s reputation as a world authority in ELT. You will also ensure that your teaching meets learner needs and expectations while meeting the Teaching Quality standards and organisational expectations.

Who we are looking for

1. Language proficiency
   

   Proficient speakers

2. Experience
   

   Min. 2 years

   (Full-time relevant post-certificate teaching experience with a wide range of classes, levels and age groups.)

3. Qualification
   

   BA in any subject + Any accredited 100+ hour English teaching certif.

   (Undergraduate degree from an English-native speaking country. An internationally recognised TEFL-I qualification (i.e. Cambridge CELTA/ Trinity CertTESOL) or Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T) or equivalent / Letter of Notification (LON) Level 2.)
