We are looking for forward thinking individuals who believe in responding to customers’ needs in order to fill our role of Learning and Development Manager
This role requires someone who is interested in and excited about product and resource development in an English language teaching context. This role will focus on helping to design and develop products based around customers’ specific needs and demands. Tasks are varied and may include conducting and evaluating customer needs analyses, developing and designing syllabi, selecting and evaluating resources and ongoing evaluation of products being offered. As part of the academic management team, this role will also involve administration of classes, teacher induction and support, overseeing placement of students, delivery of training workshops, emergency cover where needed and observation of teachers. We are offering a contract of 39 hours a week including up to 12 hours of teaching. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide educational and administrative support to assist staff in maintaining high educational and professional standards.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for and/or involved in the following:

Syllabus design and course planning
Analysing customer needs and creating and adjusting products accordingly
Monitoring and evaluating resources and courses on an ongoing basis
Producing resources which supplement materials being used
Assessing, adapting and distributing resources to the teaching and academic team
Training teachers and staff in the implementation of new courses and products
Working to deliver new products and make improvements to existing ones
Providing innovation and leadership through the design and management of projects and events which enhance the learner experience
Maintaining and promoting development of in-house /IHWO materials
Supporting the Marketing and Sales Departments, particularly with new products
Attending conferences and meetings
Maintaining teaching standards and enabling teacher development through observation, input sessions and day-to-day support
Teaching and standby teaching
Placement testing and interviewing of new students
Orientation and induction of new teachers
Day-to-day crisis management – dealing with the unexpected
Assigning and monitoring standby tasks carried out by teachers

  3. Qualification

    BA in any subject + Any accredited 100+ hour English teaching certif.

    (You must have a DELTA, DipTESOL, or MA TESOL.)

  4. The role is open only to those with the right to work in the EU.
  5. A working knowledge of Spanish
  6. CELTA trainer status (preferred, not required)
  7. Positive and proactive attitude
  8. Strong EFL background
  9. Experience with students of all ages
  10. Good working knowledge of Cambridge Assessment English
  11. The ability to lead, inspire and motivate
  12. The ability to work well in a team and independently
  13. The ability to communicate effectively
  14. Flexibility to adapt when needs arise
  15. An openness to ongoing professional development
