Activity Managers required to manage a team of activity leaders, organise excursions and activity programme and ensure smooth day to day running of a vibrant, multicultural language school. Job Title: Activity Manager
Reporting to: Campus Manager/ Summer Strategy & Planning Executive
Location: UK or Ireland. The position is residential and therefore Activity Managers are required to live on campus for the entire duration of their contract.
Salary: Depending on experience and centre size. Full board accommodation is provided free of charge.
Working Hours: You are required to work such hours as are reasonably required to carry out your role effectively and you are entitled to 1 day off per week. You will be required to work in excess of 48 hours per week and you will therefore be required to opt-out of the European Working Time Regulations.
Overview of the position
Activity Managers, together with the centre manager, will oversee the smooth operation of the summer school activity programme and manage the day to day running of the team of activity leaders.
Management & Administrative tasks
To line-manage the leisure staff and ensure they successfully deliver the activity programme
To set up and manage Plus Summer Camps according to Head Office guidelines.
To deal with day to day problems and implement workable solutions.
Plan, prepare, promote and co-ordinate all on site activities, excursions and local visits.
To oversee the delivery of all activities and excursions including the Academy programme.
Together with the campus manager, to hold regular team meetings.
To ensure that the activity schedules are clearly displayed on the PLUS main board and activities and excursions are actively promoted.
To ensure every activity has risk assessment in place.
To take down/close the centre according to Head Office guidelines.
To be fully aware and conversant with PLUS policies for the safeguarding, welfare and protection of the students and act as named Safeguarding person.
To help students to adjust to life in Britain and to understand information concerning personal safety, British law and centre rules.
To ensure that each students cultural, religious and dietary needs are met and respected.
To maintain student discipline in residences, liaising with the management team and Group Leaders.
To collect and read student and group leader feedback questionnaires, taking any action required in consultation with Head Office, and ensure feedback questionnaires are sent on time to Head Office.
Native or native level English speaker
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Flexibility and ability to work in a high pressure environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Valid DBS check (or local equivalent)
Valid First Aid Certificate.

Previous experience of summer schools, preferably in the ELT market
Experience of working with minors.
