Successful Night Supervisors are expected to demonstrate effective communication skills, conflict resolution and mediation skills and the ability to be sensitive to the needs of international students.
This is a non-residential position. Night Supervisor works approximately 30 hours weekly over 6 nights per week (inclusive of Fri, Sat & Sun evening), with shift hours starting between 9:00/11:00 pm.
A flexible work approach towards the position with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Ensure that high levels of student safety, discipline and welfare are maintained at all times once lights out hours are in effect
Carry out regular inspections and walk-throughs of the residential areas during the duty period and ensure students are adhering to rules applicable to the center
Establish a routine of checks to ensure students are in their rooms by a certain time
Hold regular meetings with center management staff to review and discuss any student or group welfare or discipline issues
Develop a positive working relationship with the university/school, stay up-to-date with Campus Information, ensuring their regulations are adhered to
Responsible for accurate reporting of any incidents during the night shift, and to pass on any information to the Center Manager the following morning
Report any major security issues to the host campus’ security staff
Establish and maintain positive working relationship with Group Leaders so that they may be called upon for reinforcement of instructions to students as needed
Provide assistance with late evening or early morning arrivals and departures particularly when these fall during the duty period
Retain responsibility for holding the master keys to residential buildings (where permitted by the host campus) during duty shifts
Act as a representative of the management team during the night, calling on a manager on the emergency rotation when appropriate
