Task description:
This video quiz contains present/past continuous and simple tense practice in the topic of "At the Doctor's" or "At the Hospital".
Scene summary:
Mrs. Wicket is ill - and this inspires Mr. Bean to fake an injury, hoping it will get him a luxurious stay in hospital. Unfortunately, it wasn't luxurious and ended up having serious injuries when he got bumped and fell into a broken elevator. Mr. Bean gets a prvate room of hospital.

Vocabulary list

  • ward: is a room in a hospital which has beds for many people, often people who need similar treatment.
  • hospital: is a place where people who are ill are looked after by nurses and doctors.
  • maternity ward: this is the department in the hospital where the newborns and their mothers stay
  • to give an injection: a doctor or nurse puts a medicine into your body using a device with a needle called a syringe
  • x-ray: is a picture of bones inside your body used by doctors for examination of your health
  • a nurse: is a person whose job is to care for people who are ill.
  • operating theatre: is a room in the hospital for operating on people
  • wheelchair: is a chair on wheels for an invalid or disabled person for transportation
  • to put smth in plaster: means to cover a broken part of body in gypsum
