The lesson starts with a short general discussion on making decisions and hard choices students face. 



Then, students move to one exercise on idioms used when talking about something difficult and easy. 



Ss analyse a collaborative task, listen to two students do the task and jot down useful language used to justify their choices. 



Finally, the lesson finishes with the speaking task when students need to use new vocabulary and make some hard choices.



For HW they watch a TED talk.

Some useful grammar tips to learn modals in English. The ppt contains all grammar point explained as well as examples. This power point is very useful for advanced lessons or B2. I recommed to use it and then practise with some exercises related to the topic. 

MODALS - GRAMMAR 

We use could, may and might to express degrees of possibility. Many native speakers disagree on which one expresses more or less certainty.The speaker also shows degree of certainty or uncertainty through intonation and stress. If the speaker stresses the modal verb, they are expressing more uncertainty than if they stress the main verb.
