Jeopardy Quiz Game

I made this phonics set for my kids below grade 6 (in Japan).  

Maybe you can use them for your kids. There are 6 words per letter. Except for 'X' (of course), the phonic sounds are all in the initial position. Where it is not obvious what the word is, I've typed the word in small print for the teachers' benefit.

P.S. 

I always do some gestures for each word, like pretend to eat the hamburger, or copy the lemon's gesture. The kids copy me accordingly (with laughter).

 

P.P.S.

We usually do one letter per week and one word from each of the previous 6 weeks. So, we do a total of 12 and it staggers through the alphabet as the weeks progress.

This is a powerpoint presentation that I made for my French students aged 11-12 but it can be used for beginners and elementary level. 

It presents each section clearly starting with the days of the week and continuing with the months of the year and the ordinal numbers.

I´ve made this ppt for my Ss to practise Present Simple. They will need to match the verbs to their endings to make expressions and make sentences (affirmative, negative and interrogative) from "sentence wheels". They will need to find one extra word that they won´t need to use but they can make an extra sentence using them. It´s a good activity for them to practise the word order of English sentences. A Powerpoint that motivates students to use their imagination and write about an imaginary last weekend.

My incredible last weekend

A simple powerpoint I used with my elementary students to review future time expressions. It came after they had studied life events and weekend plans. Students pick a number and a time expression and then had to say a correct sentence for both.

This PowerPoint can be used to show students examples of sentences using past simple. Then the students can make their own presentation about what they did over the weekend using the past simple.

My Weekend (Past Simple)

It's an interactive answer key to my worksheet: It's a worksheet to practice vocabulary: names of hobbies and  days of the week. It's based on chapter 6 of New English Adventure course book by Pearson. I created it to revise the information from the whole unit. It consists of three activities - first the children are to choose right words (go, do, have) to create a full name of a hobby, then there is a picture dictionary (children are expected to write numbers next to the appropriate pictures), and finally there is a more difficult task based on a table content (children are to write a missing word in each gap). The level of difficulty is diversified. I created an answer key to the worksheet (also in an interactive form so you can make checking the worksheet  simple, clear and quick - both for you and for your students). I put quite an effort in creating the activities but I hope you will find it as useful as I did. Enjoy.

My busy weekend

A lesson on the topic of weekends. Mainly present simple verb tenses so aimed at beginners but also good for intermediate to advanced students who just want to talk (there are some natural English phrases in there).
