Present Continuous Tense Questions and Short Answers

Exercises for kids aged 9-10 to practise general questions and short answers. There are five exercises. Your students can practise to fill the gaps, make up questions and give short answers

Have got/has got (questions and short answers)

With this PPT you can revise asking and answering about personal information, as well as some question-words and the verbs to be and have got. Students will need to listen and repeat a question (there is also a reveal-the-question button for help). Then they have to choose the correct answer. They should also copy the questions so that they can ask them each other after the activity.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS - a matching game (listening)

This PowerPoint game is easy to customise, Ss must select questions 1-20 and answer as best they can. You can split them into teams and keep score if you want to make the game more competitive. I would recommend changing the information to suit your students

20 Questions Introduction

This is a powerpoint presentation of questions about happiness, to give your students practical experience of conversation. The teacher asks the question and the student gives the answer, after which the answer can be discussed.

Specially suited for students who want to improve their conversation skills. On average this is a lesson of 1 1/2 hour.

2: Common question stems - use these in combination with slide 3 topics to generate questions with the students in groups. Give some examples first.



4 - 5: Key words activity, students must learn to identify the important words in questions even if they don't understand it in full. Students identify key words and then work out questions from just the key words. Also, it may be necessary to give students some ideas about what they can say if they don't get the question:

6 - 7 rephrasing: students must think of new ways to say the words and phrases on the slide. This is practice for starting answers by rephrasing the question instead of simply using the same words.



8: How to expand your answer using the question words

Start with a simple answer phrase and get students to add more information to it.

this i a presntation designed for beginners. you can teach parts of the house in context. present and review some parts of the house while teaching your students to ask and answer where a person is.

It can be used with elementary students to practice the "present continuous tense". The pictures used are GIFS to engage the students more. They have to answer some questions. Ex: No, he isn't. He is listening to music.
