Adjectives with sentences

This is a slideshow in order to learn the basic sentences in English. It goes with the worksheet “How to survive in English class” and is the first slideshow of a series of four. There is 10 images with sentences.

Students are grouped and identify the sentences: simple, compound, or complex sentences. I prepared a Google slide, where I have created slides with options A-C, respectively.

In this activity students practice building sentences with mixed conditional types by looking at before and now photos that show a certain change. For example, "If Chris hadn’t had his hair cut (back then) (unreal past), he’d look by far more different (now) (unreal present).

This is a presentation about some of the common writing errors that can be found within sentences. After each presentation there is a slide that has example sentences that the students must correct in their notebooks. The corrected sentences are provided through animation on the slides.

Sketch a Sentence

Sentence building. Is a quick fun opener for any size class where a complete sentence is broken up.
A single word is given to each team of students and they must expand on the single word. For example (cat becomes wild, smelly, black and white cat).
Students then reform and place their sentences into one whole paragraph and see what they have come up with.
Sentences are often funny with no context. Good quick and fun way to get your students minds working.
