A summary on how to use past simple, past continuous and past perfect together with a group-work stpry creating.

Past tenses

The material is a Power PointPresentation that I have used with my A2 students to talk about table manners around the world. It presents funny table manners that I think students might like. 

Table manners around the world

Students should guess the animal based on its footprints. It is a simple Powerpoint presentation, first the students see footprints, they have to guess (say or write) which animal they belong to and then comes the slide with the correct animal.

With this powerpoint the students can exerciseusing the  Present Progressive by describing the actions happening in the pictures. Examples are given as well for help.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
