This is a simple, informative PPT on how to make, accept and refuse offers in English. In this PPT the pupils are introduced with the structures of how they can make, accept and refuse offers. There are dialogues and key structures for the topic inside the PPT. Pupils are also expected to create their own dialogues with the pictures given at the end of the PPT. It's suitable both for adults and teens.

ESL EFL Writing and Speaking Activity - Pre-intermediate - 30 Minutes



Here is a comprehensive activity that gives students practice at solving problems by making, accepting and rejecting suggestions. Each student is given a copy of the worksheet. Students begin by identifying phrases for making, accepting and rejecting suggestions from a set of sentences on their worksheet. After that, the students practice using the phrases for accepting and rejecting in pairs. Then, students change partner and practice making their own suggestions and giving reasons when refusing suggestions. Finally, the class is divided into small groups. Students take it in turns to read problems and then as a group they make suggestions and decide on the best solution for each problem. When all of the groups have finished, each group tells the class what they decided and why

Try not to laugh lesson (all levels)

Each of the 12 slides shows a completely different problem. Students can choose a random slide. After looking at the slide they should encouraged to describe the problem in detail (Not "It is raining", but "I see that it is raining and the people will get wet. Getting wet is a problems because they may get sick afterwards.") After describing the problem, students should be asked to offer solutions that the people could use to solve their prblems.
