Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Famous British People

This culture quiz contains simple riddles for Ss to guess famous people, places and food. All the riddles are written in Simple Present, and most of the sentences include the verb to be in its positive, negative and interrogative forms with all subject pronouns (except you). After passively introducing the verb to be, teachers can explain the grammar by showing the chart at the end and some further examples of the verb be.

It's a presentation of the symbols of Great Britain (famous people and significant sights)with some information about them. Pupils are introduced to the British culture and life style.

Originally put together  for some weaker TOEIC  :-) students hence some of the later slides. That said it can be used for any or easily adapted.

Easter-History and Culture + EASTER IN U.K.

This is a ppt with some slides showing cultural aspects about Scotland. It is a culture quiz where students will be given three choices .They will have to choose the right one. This activity works well as a Teacher/ group activity (competition activity among groups).This can be used as a warm up to introduce the topic about Scotland or as a review class after having done other activities related to this topic.This can be done with high school students as well as with adults. Students will be able to practise some reading and speaking mainly, but there´s  also an optional writing task(Project). The answers to the choice are given after having shown the three possibilities and once the teacher has clicked the mouse again on the same slide.
