Hello fellow teachers!  I'm a Canadian High School English teacher who lives in Montreal. I gladly share with you all this activity about cars. It is aimed at learning some parts of a car. I hope you enjoy it!

PARTS OF A CAR

Based on a TED talk this is suitable for levels b1 to c1. The link to the ted talk is in the powerpoint. The first questions relate to the video while the last questions are more generally about driving. This is a complete speaking and listening lesson.

The powerpoint presentation is aimed at presenting or revising the vocabulary of car parts. Students should guess or recollect the lexis related to cars, including some problems that people might face while using a vehicle.

What colour is the car?

2 ou 3 students or groups in the competition, they have to discover the the part of the body based on the description and scrambled word. Press "hint" if they need, "check" after their answer and "back" to return to the game. When the answer is right, press the button with the same color of their car.

Car parts are individual parts of which a composite entity is made up.

Divide the class into three groups, each group chooses a car. Ask questions (whatever you want to review or practice). If they got it right, move their car. The first car to finish is the winner.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
