Challenge your students to pronounce some of the trickiest words from the English language. Help them with the correct pronunciation, teach them their meanings, and enhance their vocabulary.

Pronunciation Challenge

Prompts through pictures (change them if you needs) and language requirements. Can be used as a resource  to stimulates ideas, thinking  and discussion before leading into writing - usually a 200 word limit / 15 minute max. Good for freer writing and expression,  reer review, WWW (what went well) and EBI (even better if...) to focus on the positive. Can be adapted to all levels but if you are restricted by the demands of an exam, this allows the students the opportunity to explore imagination and is much more enjoyable as an occasional activity.



It has all worked successfully when splitting the class into groups - some all writing on slide A, some B and some C. Originally, adapted from the 200 character Tweet story poached from Twitter.

200 word challenge

Zombie Challenge Series is a gamified English language activities based on the theme of “Zombie Apocalypse”. This task sheet might require videos especially for the first level (link included in the worksheet but transcript of the video is also provided). There are four levels in this task and the levels are sequenced according to a particular order: Level 1 (Zombie Escape), Level 2 (Zombie Defense), Level 3 (Zombie War) and Level 4 (Zombie Hunt). Classroom English Challenge

This is a PPT which I used with a group of elementary school students who were going to compete in the national spelling bee championships in Beijing, China - one of my students came in third place :)  If you are doing spelling or vocabulary lessons, you can analyze the spellings of many of these words and give brief quizzes or even do an informal spelling bee.

A Spelling Challenge

The "Active or Passive Challenge" game is an engaging classroom activity designed to reinforce students' understanding of active and passive voice. Participants begin by standing in the center of the room, facing the display board. A sentence appears on the screen, and students must quickly decide if it's written in active or passive voice. They then move to designated areas of the room to indicate their choice.

Students has to choose the color that they like while avoiding Baikinman to be safe.

Color Rainbow Challenge (Anpanman)

Autumn photo challenge to encourage students of all ages to take pictures related to the vocabulary of autumn, and write a small paragraph about their picture. Encourages vocabulary search and creativity !

A great game for students to practice with fun. The game rule should be changed a little bit from the original game show. Elementary students are often all out after 5 questions so they should be allowed to be all back in the game right after that

Harry Potter Present Continuous Challenge

This vocabulary warm up is ideal for students who need to build up and enhance their vocabulary. If the student is unable to identify the object, at least this will give him/ her the chance to be able to recognize particular objects.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
