Everyone knows this game and how to play it. Students get so excited that they tend to speak in their native tongue, so that’s a challenge for you. It is ideal if the students are a bit bored during the class or you have a few minutes left at the end of it. Your are welcome to edit it to your needs.



Charades

The main purpose of this activity is to give students some practice on describing movies.

This is a variation of the popular game "charades" which can be useful as a warm up or a speaking activity when working on the topic of movies.

This game can be played one to one or in teams and it can be adapted to different levels. I hope you enjoy playing this game with your students as much as I did. 

MOVIE CHARADES

This lesson covers the verb TO BE in present tense (am, is, are) with pronoun contractions. It also practices polite language: Please, Thank You, You're Welcome, I'm Sorry, No Problem.  The Bible reading "God is Light" is from 1 John 1:5. 



Audio narration and a fun charades game are included. Pronunciation of the /u/ (shwa) and  /aw/ sounds are practiced. Homework includes practical reading and writing as well as fill in the blanks with pictures.

Animal cards to practice describing different animas. The activity can be structured in a variety of ways. You can do charades, you can have one person describing the animal in third or first person, you can have the other person ask questions to guess.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
