What did you do last weekend?

This is an activity for the students to reflect on their behaviour this academic year and give themselves a grade. I have made this for my year 8 (aged 11 -12) tutor group. They are all native speakers but I hope this ppt may be useful for some of you. The language practised is the language of assessment/evaluation. 

How did you do this year?

The student will be presented with a number of questions beginning with Did you... and he/she will be challenged to answer these questions. The student realizes there are a couple acceptable ways to answer Did you...  Did you drink that soda? Yes I drank it or...Yes, I did. So this is a good simple past tense review as well.

How to answer "Did you..." questions

It's just a little PPT to introduce new vocabulary words. It explains the plot of Monsters University and asks some simple questions at the end. You can have different students read the ppt slides.

This is a memory game to reinforce past tense 'did' questions [simple past tense questions]. Scenes featuring people appear on the screen. Leave the pictures on the screen for about five seconds, then change to the question slide. The question slide contains questions like "Did Tom swim yesterday?" Students answer "Yes, he did/ No, he didn't." They can answer as a group or individually. This is a super fun memory game!
