This powerpoint is about past inventions like the typewriter, the TV, the phone, the cassette, the VHS and so forth and USED TO / DIDN'T USE TO. Pupils have to complete the sentences. The correction is also given. 

INVENTIONS: USED TO and DIDN'T USE TO

This powerpoint provides a description of the different uses of this verb/modal in present and past: need to, don't need to, needn't, didn't need to, needn't have. There are also some activities to apply the explanation on past tenses, such as completing with didn't need or needn't have, multiple choice and paraphrasing..

NEED DIDN'T NEED TO AND NEEDN'T HAVE

This is a PowerPoint game I adapted (didn't create this myself) I used it for vocabulary (crops and condiments) You can change it as you like or even create a grammar version.

It involves a picture of the vocabulary hidden in the middle and 6 folders with hints in them. So I started the game by giving 6 points to each team and I reduced 1 point for each hint the team has revealed. I also added funny or ugly/scary pictures for some surprise effect and if the team gets a nice picture they get 1 point extra or I take away 1 point for an ugly picture. Students get to choose which folder to reveal. it doesn't have to be in order. I kept my clues simple as my kids are kind of beginners.

Here is a simple PPT which can help students differentiate between the two of them keeping it very easy and simple. I didn't want to include the uses for predictions and promises, I wanted to keep it only for planned and not sure activities because I used it with 4th Graders.

Hello everyone.  I made this simple presentation for my junior high students.

It's vocabulary related to the unit they are learning "Travelling".  They like it because of the pictures ( they didn't get bored in class, which is good )

A kind of warming-up activity.

A speaking task for elementary level students.

Helps to drill the past simple (positive and negative) rules.

Students should make up their true sentences about what they did or didn't do yesterday, using the given verbs and expressions.

This is a first presentation on the topic. It has some very basic rules for the use of the genitive S to show possession. I didn't include any exceptions to the rules. I hope you find it useful. =)
