Speaking - Fears and Phobias- An ESL/ELL Lesson Plan

I created this worksheet to make a lesson on health more fun. My teenage students liked this PowerPoint presentation. They were surprised to find out how many weird fears exist. This PPP encourages students to talk about their own fears. They can also share their own experience of overcoming these phobias. Hope you find this PPT useful.

Phobias

this game is about teaching the demonstrative adjetives which can be a little bit confusing for learners. Here, they will find the differences between those words. I hope you enjoy it. 

This-that, these-those

Students talk about phobias / fears and related vocabulary.  Targets include multiple ways to express one's fears and famous types of phobias.  Discussion questions allow students to practice their new vocab.  

Students often find prefixes quite daunting and sifting through prefix tables can be a tad toilsome. This PowerPoint on lifestyles, serves to break down some of those fears, whilst presenting them in an engaging way. It is aimed at intermediate and higher level students, who have had exposure to prefixes but need more practise with the language.



Furthermore, it highlights some basic concepts of the target language in a controlled way, whilst giving students ample speaking practise.



This is a bottom-up approach, whereby students can focus on some simple rules before communicating. They have a chance to provide answers through elicitation before one or two engaging lead-in questions.

This was for introducing the word-formation using the words they already know. I use this PPT aiming to improve my ss writing as well as reading comprehension. It helps them to overcome the fear of unknown vocabulary. They try to develop an educated guess about words using prefixes and suffixes.

Just an introduction to what happens to some nouns when you add "less" to them. The rule does not apply to every noun, but it is pretty prevalent and therefore this PPT can be useful.
