THE PLURAL IN ENGLISH

This presentation shows some of the different ways they could use to ask for and answer about the time: what time is it? It's...



It covers the reading both of analogical and digital clocks. 



It focus on word order and it calls students' atention with colour usage which makes memorization easier for them. 



It remembers students to use the preposition 'at' to speak about time in everyday sentences: I get up at seven o'clock in the morning. My plane leaves at four thirty. Classes start at eight a.m., etc. 



It is an easy format for Spanish speakers, beginners and adults who are reviewing their almost forgot English.



It has been prepared for my students, but I hope you find it useful for your students, too.

 

Telling the time

TEMPLATE FOR THE GAME. YOU CAN PUT THERE any background you want. I used FC that we passed in our lessons. It is not necessary to use many different pictures. I asked kids to find a pair and name them, or to say sentence with this pictures.

MATCH THE PAIR

Power point presentation containing pictures of unordinary interior designs. Students are to form sentences, describing the different rooms, practicing the there is/there are construction and the prepositions of place e.g.: in, on, under, behind, between, opposite, in front of, next to, etc. Taking it further, the pictures are also usable for discussing "Who could own such kind of a room?", "What does the room tell about the owner?", "What can we find out about the owner`s personality?", etc.

This is a powerpoint presentation about the different types of houses, the rooms and the furniture that you can find in a house. It also allows you to practice the expression  "il y a +objet"

The goal of this exercise is to match the pictures and the words on the right.

To make it more effective I recommend following these simple steps:

1.	Give the students this worksheet for homework.

3.	Using this webpage, students can look for the different words to complete the exercise. The best thing about this page is that simply by putting the cursor over the pictures they will hear the pronunciation and see the spelling of each object. 

4.	The next day you can review this vocabulary together. Because of the homework, students should already have a good understanding of both the vocabulary and pronunciation.
