What changed? Memory game 

The students will practice the speaking ability with the vocabulary about weather using the images in sequence. The teacher can make a challenge with 2 students or with small groups. This is a great activity to memorize the vocabulary, practice the speaking and have some fun in class. They like it so much. :) 

MEMORY GAME

A fun game that works as a warmer, featuring toy vocabulary. It can lead to a discussion of which toys students like/used to like or what they would like for their birthday or Christmas. Go over the names of all the items: students must memorise them. With each click, one disappears — but what? The first student to shout out the answer gets a point. You can use this as a template to make your own vanishing games.

Vanishing Toys Memory Game

Player chooses one card and then a second one. Click on the card to uncover it. If they match (word/picture), he gets a point and continues playing until he makes a mistake. If they don't match, click on the X button in the card to cover the pictures and it's next player's turn.

Memory Game - Fruit 1

A collection of different pictures designed to be used as a fun memory game to practise present simple and continuous tenses, and There is... / There are... structures. The teacher displays the picture for a limited time, and students try to remember as much as they can about the pictures before answering true / false statements, which can be done as a competitive team game.




I also like to do a warm up with a few of the pictures first, simply getting students to describe what is happening in the pictures, to get them familiar with using present simple/continuous tenses.
What also works well is doing the team game first, then giving the students pictures to make true/false statements for the other team to answer, again showing the picture for a short time before taking it away and reading the T/F statements.

True or False - Present Simple & Present Continuous

Student / Group chooses one card and then tries to find a second one to match it. Click on the picture to uncover it. If they match, the student/group gets a point and the squares remain uncovered. The student/group plays again, until he/they make a mistake.

Memory game - opposites 2

18 squares, 9 means of transportation with picture and word. The player chooses a square, you click on it to reveal the word/picture and s/he chooses another square, click on it to reveal the word/picture. 



If they match, let them uncovered and the player gets a point and plays again until s/he makes a mistake. If they don't match, click on the X in the picture to cover it again and it's the next player's turn.



Students try to memorize where the pictures and words are to get points.
