A selection of English ESL hidden picture ppt slides

This is a PowerPoint game I adapted (didn't create this myself) I used it for vocabulary (crops and condiments) You can change it as you like or even create a grammar version.

It involves a picture of the vocabulary hidden in the middle and 6 folders with hints in them. So I started the game by giving 6 points to each team and I reduced 1 point for each hint the team has revealed. I also added funny or ugly/scary pictures for some surprise effect and if the team gets a nice picture they get 1 point extra or I take away 1 point for an ugly picture. Students get to choose which folder to reveal. it doesn't have to be in order. I kept my clues simple as my kids are kind of beginners.

What's in the Box? Vocabulary game

Use can this activity to teach / revise food and drinks vocabulary. It's a fun activity, where children are to guess a hidden picture (you reviel the picture piece by piece). Hope you like it. Oh, it corresponds with New English Adventure 1 book but of course you can use it with any lesson on food and drinks.

I created this hidden pictures game (ppt) using a template I found on the Internet. 



There are several pictures of fruits hidden behind a coloured mosaic. Every time you click with your mouse on it, a square is removed. The children have to try to guess the fruit before you remove all the squares.

Hi everybody! In this power point presentation you have to divide the class into two groups. First they choose a number that should be taken out. Then, they have to ask any questions like Is s/he tall? Is he/she young? The group that guesses who the person is wins. Modify if necessary!

Hidden Picture

A speaking activity based on idioms. The presentation was built with several idioms, each one with an image, the idiom, its meaning, and an example. Fits private lessons for intermediate/advanced adults as well as high school advanced students. The method is as follows: a picture is shown first, eliciting the student to talk about it and guess what idiom it is about. After some attempts, the title is shown. The teacher then asks its meaning. Same procedure with it by showing the next sentence containing the explanation. Examples are elicited, with the help with the next hidden sentence (shown by the click of the mouse) with the teacher's example. Excellent activity for vocabulary enrichment, fluency, and more.

In class, this projetable might be used partially, as a "five minutes activity" at the end of the lesson or as part of a whole lesson regarding idioms.

Attention: the images were partly taken from Pinterest. Most of the rest were created by the author.

Idioms - Speaking Activity

Simple guessing game to find the animals beneath the colored blocks, 5 attempts to find and click on the animal then the slide is restarted. It's a good vocabulary practice for both topics of animals and colors, can be easily edited for any other topic instead of animals.

Animals hidden pictures game

A game like powerpoint presentation about Easter. It aims at revising vocabulary about Easter through clip arts and questions. It can be played with students divided into two teams or as a whole class game. The game has 2 boards and each board has  20 squares. The students have to either name the picture or create a sentence with the picture or answer a question. If the answer is wrong they lose 1 point.There are a bomb and a treasure hidden in each board. If they find the bomb they lose 3 points, if they find the treasure they win 3 points.It is designed for elementary students but it can be also used with students with special educational needs. As a follow-up activity, students can write sentences using these words or they can write a simple short story. I hope you like it!!
