A selection of English ESL intentions ppt slides

This power point provides students with lots of practice on the use of " be going to". The slides give the prompts for students to make the senteces in the affirmative, negative and interrogative forms. Although it is a totally guided drill, it is a little chanllenging since they have to form the sentences with different pronouns and also make examples about themselves. I hope it can help you. 

Going to -  Plans and intentions

This is intended as a speaking activity and a way to get students familiar with "be going to". By looking at a picture students say what is going to happen/what they are going to do. Hit the "click here" button to reveal the sentence. Click the answer button to complete the sentence. This way students can guess and practise this tense at the same time.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
