Presentation prepared for pre-intermediate adult learners. It includes pictures of funny inventions with a brief description.

First, students read the information about the invention and then they write a short paragraph trying to use the passive voice when possible. Next, they will see a 'possible'  paragraph and will compare it with the one he or she has written.  

It can be also worked in different ways.



the students can learn about inventions, and wh-questions, the y can learn vocabulary a crossword is include it, the students should learn inventions history and wh questions.

It's useful for a speaking activity about inventions.

This game is for the students of pre-intermediate or intermediate level, you show one picture and they should guess what is this invention used for, then you click another slide -there'll be an answer! Enjoy!

it could be used in 2 ways:



a) Creative activity: the student creates their own invention, and review topics already seen. 



b) Listening activity: The teacher searches for a video about an invention that answer the categories of the worksheet the student must fill out the information. 



Besides writing and listening, it could be used in speaking too either socializing the activity if it was used with purpose B or as a speaking prompt if it is used with purpose A. 

My invention

This power-point can be used to teach discoveries and inventions, it can also be used  be used to teach the passive voice or the past simple tense. I use it with pre-intermediate students.

Ss have to choose the appropriate invention or discovery and make sentence using past simple passive. Then they can check themselves clicking the variant they’ve chosen

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
