A selection of slides with the linking theme of animals. Some of them have solutions and some are more open-ended, leading to discussion. I made this for native English kids, but a lot of it is useful for ESL. Hope so, anyway!:-)

Ready-to-go language starters

Student have to solve murder! Students one box at a time in any order they like, and they talk about what happened and when it happened: What happened before it, what happened after it. These boxes contain the clues of the murder which they have to put in order.

This is a college level powerpoint explaining the relationship between language and semiotics. It is not intended for regular english classes but rather a help in understanding for anyone who is taking English Grammar courses.

This is a game for elementary students based on the vocabulary about countries, nationalities, and languages. There is a virtual dice included on the slides. If the students are on a map, they have to say the country and the nationality. If the get a flag, they have to say the country and the language. Finally, if students get a famous building, they have to say the country and the capital city.
