Ppt is created to practice the vocabulary recognition and also teacher can ask students to make sentences. Very good classroom exercise. Separate class into teams. Team members should choose the box, say the word, make sentence and get amount of points. Team with the highest points win

Mystery squares 

This is the material for a 5-6th grade lesson plan to develop in 2 sessions (1 hour each).

Vocabulary is then checked with the help of the PP presentation.

Instructions for the case are presented to the group. Then the case is presented and learners have some time to prepare their alibis (they have to use the Past continuous), which will be exposed during the next session.

Mystery case

Mystery-Box is a game where you pick a number/letter and answer a simple question. You are then given a box, students must decide if they want to keep it or give it the other team. Box will contain random points (plus and minus)

Mystery-Box game

Students have to come up with an alibi using past simple, past continuous etc. for what their elf was doing last night. Then interrogate each other with questions in past. 

Christmas Mystery Game 

The powerpoint contains 12 random presentation topics each with 3 slides. Students (in pairs) come up and present the powerpoint. Students do not know what the topic is until they are ready to present. They must improvise the presentation as a team. 



Encourage students to focus less on the accuracy of the presentation, but to focus on their voice, body language and eye contact.

Turn the note upside-down. The numbers resemble letters (this is clearer with a calculator).

The note reads: BILL IS BOSS HE SELLS OIL



Mystery 3 Answer:

The thief is Mark Smith.

The note to Holmes reads literally, “QUESTION MARK SMITH, THEY ARE THE THIEF”.
